I love finding out about new photographers (new to me at least), and seeing how they are still human amidst all their fame. I have been reading up in Editorial Photo about the Photography field, and they have a great selection of articles by photographers that have helped out a lot in how I think of my own photos and the industry for it. Two great articles came up in my reading, one about Freelance work by Doug Menuez, and a Q and A by Brian Smith. A fantastic "Be yourself" article by Chip Simmons really made me feel like I don't have to change anything in my way of pursuing a great shot and still making it my own. While it's a tough industry to thrive in, there is still hope as these articles put it, if you work hard enough. I have been pursuing photography as a serious extension of my designer toolbox, and not just as a hobby. This site was exactly what I needed to gear me up mentally about the industry and it's characteristics. I assume that after winning a Pulitzer, Brian Smith would sound/seem like some film snob but after reading his blog... he seems pretty cool. It is also great that there still seems to be this helping community of artists helping other new comers to the field. Gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, ha!

With all that said, I am looking forward to the new photo projects coming up, and will be sharing the images on here as well. Onward and outward, or as Buzz says, "To infinity and BEYOND!"

I leave you now with one of my favorite shots... that I took.
