Time for a new beginning?

Fania All-Stars, Rakim, G.I. Joe, Nirvana, Nintendo, The Warriors, The New York Dolls, Style Wars, Whodini, Pat Benetar, The Pixies, Fernandito Villalona, Graffiti... What am I talking about? Some of the best things that happened to the 80-90's, and still to this day some of THE best things that have happened. Yes I am one of those people who thinks everything needs a better new coat of paint (think creativity) nowadays. I've talked about Nostalgia before and finally think some things are coming around and actually make us want to support it! I was talking to TokyoCigar (One of the best beat makers now) today on twitter and came to the conclusion that yes there is a new beginning happening in the Arts (all) and it feels great. As of late there has been an enormous amount of good things happening all around with creativity, and I would like to take a moment out and talk abit about it. In the late 90's up to mid-2000's alot of crap came out, whether it be fashion, music, digital media... you know it was everywhere period. Tons of me-toos' crawled out of the creativity sewer to take over, and they did for the most part.  Now I am not saying everything was bad in the 90's, as a matter of fact there was a fantastic amount of talent during that time... Biggie, Soundgarden, Radiohead, well you get the idea. Now the bad stuff, was...well bad. Right Said Fred, The Hansons, Gerardo, Hootie and the Blowfish, Chumbawamba, Wilson Phillips, 4 Non Blondes, LIMP BIZKIT (Can you tell I don't like them?), Aqua, and to top the list off Amy Grant!

Now? Raekwon still going strong, Radiohead too, Q-Tip, Mike Patton (and his million projects), Opeth, Los Amigos Invisibles, Joell Ortiz, M.I.A., TV on the Radio, and the list keeps going and this is JUST music. Now we have many new artists and directors in film and videogames making it happen with what started it all... passion.

This is to be continued because there is much ground to cover on what's good now, and I definitely need to make at most 2 more posts completing my thought, just didn't want to make this too long of a read! Giant out!
