Elhae's Aura (II) Is Shining by Randy Ortiz

If... you... don't... want... DRAMA, get with this Elhae Aura II 'cause it's well worth your 3AM after a wild party night or just wanna lay back and enjoy some of that good heart to heart R&B soul. I've praised Elhae before several times and what he's been consistent with while still being himself is elevating his sound on each and every next project. This is what good R&B should sound like right now without the cheesy bullshit, he also has a good balance of Hip-Hop in this project as well and it doesn't take away from the overall feeling of Aura II. A bit late to the album party since this came out in April but good music has no expiration or limit and this album I highly recommend to folks that like good music and don't mind that good love love in it.
Listen to the album below and make sure to show the homie support by buying/streaming it and let him know what you think. He's also going to be in Miami for SoulLit in August so go check him out live and get those tickets! See below for info.

What's Going On Dominican Republic?! by Randy Ortiz

Image courtesy of WGMeetsToday is a bit saddening... I've been reading a good deal of DR news and media issues going around recently, unfortunately it seems that Dominican Republic is in need of some major society help and restructuring now more than ever. It doesn't help that there's a poverty issue as well, the youth concentrate on materialistic ideals and certain media personalities are acting a fool publicly. Couple these issues in with lack of knowledge in certain instances and you can have a major problem with delinquency, energy spent on the wrong things and shameful portrayals in the media. It truly makes me sad to see this unfolding because it's a beautiful country and I know my Dominicans are better than this. We tend to be a bit loud and usually ready to party but in the end you will find people who are kind, honest, family oriented and always willing to help someone. Certain family ideals are being tossed out the window because money is at dire need, dishonest (muggings, robbery, drugs) work is rampant at an alarming rate from what I keep seeing/reading... but where do you go and make things better? More and more kids are hitting the streets with horrible (if any) schooling and bad intentions, I think it might be wise to concentrate on getting thru to them before we try the adults. Corruption in government isn't new especially in the Dominican Republic but with strong young voices in positive action, I think things can start to turn around for the better and much of the crime can turn towards a productive future which can disseminate throughout the country. Yes the adults are the ones in positions to dictate but the youth can truly make a change as it seems they are in control of society right now, the problem is that the older folk (set in their ways) just wrap it up with "damn kids messing everything up" but don't help or see why they do it. I am vowing to do my part to help with what I can from the US to the country I love so much and care about, I will be looking up resources to get something started over there for a brighter day for kids as they are the ones that will govern in the future.

If anyone has any information that would prove beneficial to this cause, please email us with it and hopefully less misguided youths stay in the streets. If you are an organization or group interested in collaborating feel free to inform us about your company or movement.

NY Comic Con Thoughts Part 2 by Randy Ortiz

Verse two, coming with that Olde E brew err.. I meant Comic Con part 2 with a bit more of the toys on display, from the awesome threeA figures, Square Enix Batman, Bandai's incredibly extensive Gundam (not Gangnam) line to a ridiculously cool custom Galactus figure/statue someone made in Artist Alley. There are quite a few more shots to share (40+) on here and will be posted in-between the music and art, I don't want to take over the site with these shots but still show you the pure awesome of what is Comic Con for those that didn't go. I hope that with these shots you get that itch to go and get your pass for next years convention!

NY Comic Con Thoughts Part 1 by Randy Ortiz

The Con is over and another glorious geekfest is done, it was sure tiring but as always a ton of fun. Comics, cosplay and enough toys to deplete your funds in a day doesn't sounds bad eh? I'm sure many folks went home happy as hell with their bags of awesome exclusives, nostalgia triggered purchases and new artists they became fans of. I managed to find a new book to read and got Lil Giant into G-Man as well, I didn't buy any new figures cause... well I got no more room left for figures right now haha. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we had fun taking them and being a part of NYCC once again was fantastic. We have a good amount of photos so I'll be breaking this up into a few posts so one post doesn't weigh as much as the Power Pachyderms. They will be varied and jumbled up just like the floor in the Con. For those that have never been to one, I strongly urge you to go if you love comics, figures, art and geek culture as a whole. It's a little crowded but worth every half step you take in 5 minutes haha.

It's Comic Con Time Again! by Randy Ortiz

Photo courtesy of WGMeetsIt's that time again my Giants, New York Comic Con (Oct. 11-14) is here! One of our favorite times of the year when we can sit back... err walk amongst our own and not one person there Bat(man) an eyelash to the amazing geekery. WGM will be attending and walking around with OG theOneCam of Woody Meme fame, we will be visiting some of our old and new friends there as well as taking shots around the place. Argonaut Resins (Booth #2479) will be there with his much-loved Tuttz series as well as Kings Of Atlantis and some new pieces. Stopping by Aaron Wood's (Booth #2907) and checking out some of his awesome propaganda art pieces, also Prince of Cats writer and artist Ronald Wimberly (Artists Alley P11). Anything Batman I'm looking forward to so that Batman - Death Comes To Gotham (Sun. 12:15-1:15PM) is a must visit, also theOneCam is ecstatic that Good Smile Company will also be there for the first time ever! Obviously there's more we are excited to see but that list is too long haha.

So if you guys are going to be around the 'Con, drop us a tweet (theOneCam Twitter) or comment below and let's geek the hell out n' build!
