Brooklyn Shanti collaborated with A-Live for a Dubstep meets Hip-Hop track in 'Live for What I'd Die for,' touching on the constant revolving topic of life versus death that lives among many. Shanti recently has been on an amazing journey life and music wise and also shares the constant peering into the complex yet simple idea of Love. I like this track because the beat doesn't sounds like two steel doors grinding on each other, some dubstep tracks sound like they are trying to damage the idea of the genre so props to Shanti and A-Live going the better route.
EA just released a video for their upcoming snow boarding video game SSX that will feature a Pretty Lights in-game remix to RUN-D.M.C.'s forever iconic "It's Tricky." The game is set to be released on February 17th, 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360, not sure why there isn't Wii or Wii U talk but that's another story hehe. Let me know what you guys think about this dubstep version, I'm not sure if I like it yet since it's such a drastic change from the original... so far it sounds like it can add good atmospheric qualities to the game.
[vimeo]http://www.vimeo.com/27911262[/vimeo]That's the last time he'll follow a little girl down some stairs... Fantastic visuals by HK Corp. in this Dubstep/Electronica track for Skrillex, they took a super creepy and real problem/issue/situation and gave it a major twist. Definitively one of the most recent videos that I have enjoyed because of the overall execution and concept.
Starkey, Zilla Rocca, and Curly Castro together in a DOPE track that just made me lose what I was going to write about it haha. I don't know much about Dubstep but I know what I like and this space infused track is a good one, you get mind visuals and all with it. Love the way the beat sounds like a fights about to start in Star Trek or when it's about to get real for some folks on the opposing team. I'll let the track speak for itself because it's better heard than talked about. If this is what dubstep sounds like then count me in!
*Door opens* SHIIIIIFPT!
As the three men stood there wiping purple blood off their faces, everybody runs for the doors... it all goes into a magenta-blue slow-mo sequence while lazers beam and people scream. Smile on their faces. *thumbs up*
I always manage to get a hold of a track or video that fits in perfectly on my Monday mornings, don't know how to explain it but it just happens. Berlin brother Robot Koch comes in with 'Threats' off his 'Songs for Trees and Cyborgs' album recently released. The video has some pretty cool bokeh and feels very organic (visual wise) when the track plays throughout.
