Stephen Chai & The No-Nation Orchestra Gives Us 'More More More'

Stephen Chai of Laserfang fame has returned with a few friends and a new band called No-Nation Orchestra to take us on a soulful uplifting travel through the funky fields of horns and drums. This EP brings sounds familiar to those that listen to afrobeat, funk, with jazzy undertones that prove highly enjoyable and even danceable. Stephens voice billows out reminiscent of the Bee Gees yet smoother with a hint of THC and visions of purple fields fading in, it carries over each track beautifully as the captain in this ever-flowing romp thru the soul and inner beat. I would love to hear this whole EP live, I loved the rhythm of The No-Nations start and made me miss outdoor summer night concerts already! This 5 track EP is well worth it's 5 dollar price tag, as it will have you shaking, grooving and take you to a place where Kuti would've been proud and jamming right along with em.

Stephen Chai & The No-Nation Orchestra - More More More

Stephen and two members of Laserfang have a new music journey called Stephen Chai & The No-Nation Orchestra and are preparing a 5 song EP for everyone. 'More More More' is the teaser track on what to expect on the EP, with a chill Afro-Beat atmosphere I can definitely look forward to this album. He's got a burning in his soul asking for it all... will he give in?Anything that preserves that genre and sound is a-ok in my book. More More More by nonationorchestra

Laserfang - Mammoth

It's hard to describe what Laserfang sounds like, I guess I can say it's a mix of electronic sounds psychedelic vocals with a rock feel to it. Reminiscent sounds of Dub Trio and Gorillaz (to me at least) with the dancy rhythm that can be found in Brooklyn parties with a little twist of off-ness = awesome. The fifth song reminds me of Animal Crossing's KK Slider (Geek) on a Saturday night too so that's awesome in it's own way as well haha. Another posting from the artists of Salt Lake City, sounding fantastic this one is going to stay close to my ears.

You can buy below to get the digital copy of the album ($9), or a 12" vinyl ($15) that also includes the digital download as well. I coped that vinyl with the awesome artwork by Sri Whipple. Check the sound below and enjoy!
